Hi, I am a bit confused as to the difference between front drag and rear drag on reels and for what type of fishing each is suitable/best for. Also I have been told for float fishing a closed face reel is best but I haven’t seen many people using them, is this true and if so why? Many thanks in advance.

I’m going to my first canyon tuna fishing trip (for Yellowfin, Longfin, Bigeye Tuna, Swordfish, and Mahi) in NJ. I prefer to buy my own gear however found some sets to be in the $1000 range. The Skipper says 80 lb class tackle is needed. This it’s a good choice if I throw on some 50 to 80 lb test? Thanks in advance!

i heard penn fishing reels are pretty good so i wanted to throw one on my 6 foot pole. any advice on what size i should put on? 440? 450? 550?

After some years away from fishing iam taking it up again from scratch,i saw a abu garcia 6500cl3 for sale used 4 times £30 pounds are they a good reel for beachcasting , last time i went out we only could afford the old scarbourgh reels times have changed
