im a guy who never learned how to fish. i have a fishing liciense and a new rod&reel but how do you catch fish? i will be doing mostly river fishing. how do i set up my line? any basic tips would be appriciated.

A fisherman is reeling in a fish. In 8.2 s he winds 1.7 m of fishing line onto a reel whose radius is 2.2 cm (assumed to be constant as an approximation). The line is being reeled in at a constant speed. Determine the angular speed of the reel.

I’m going to try surf fishing for the first time in hilton head island, south carolina. What pole size should I use, what bait and how should I fish. Reel it in like a lure or just let it sit out there and wait for a bite?

I own a H. L. Leonard Rod Co. Fly rod. It’s 8′ in length, 3-1/2 oz, says it supports #6 or 7 line. I’ve been told by my buddies that it would be a good thing to get a thick reel (whatever can hold a lot of line). I’ve also been told that it will help with casting if I get line one size bigger than is recommended by the rod.
- Which reel should I get (around $50)? Any companies particularly good?
- What should I look for in a good reel?
- What weight/size line should I get? Any brand better than another?
Please let me know the knowledge you all have about my questions. I look forward to learning more about the sport.

Im looking to find an automatic fishing line winder that will accomodate a 80TW-150TW saltwater reel. Im looking to get one ideally with variable speeds. I can’t find much information on the internet, and dont have many other resources. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You.

I need to buy a reel for my partner but havent got a clue what to buy?? It wud just be for basic fishing? Beginners fishing? Trout? Coarse? Not sea fishing though. Also I only wanted to pay about 30quid at the most. Would buying second hand be recommended off Ebay maybe? Please help by maybe suggesting a make of reel. Thanks very much!

my husband has this fishing reel and has tried to change it but no instructions on how to. Reel can be used by either left or right handed person, he needs it to be right handed.Help

I will attempt to oil and grease my first baitcasting reel (Shimano Cardiff).
Which parts do I oil? Which parts do I grease?
The worm gear (I believe it is the small metal shaft that the line guide eye moves across to lay your line onto the spoll), is that to be oiled or lubed?

I just bought a spin casting reel with the line set up in the spool. I dont know how to set it up to where i can go fishing with it. When ever i reel it in, it gets tangled up on the bail and everywhere else. Can someone walk me through where i’m suppose to put the line so i can go fishing. Thank you.
