i am planning my future and my aim in life is to be able to buy a house in jersy, channel islands and be able to go fishing a couple of miles ofsore from st helier.

I have read that testing of fishing line requires sophisticated and expensive equipment. I wonder whether anyone has been able to put together a simple piece of equipment by which the breaking strain of fishing line could be tested quickly and accurately.
I’m in the Fallbrook/ Rainbow area and I’m looking for a good area to go backpacking and fishing, fly fishing or conventional, does’nt matter, but I’m wondering if there is anything around here or If I’m going to have to go out a ways or not. Thanks
I have just purchased a vintage bakalite centre pin reel which I intend to go fishing with, and I would love to hear from anyone who fishes with similar vintage tackle to ask them how their vintage tackle peforms in a real fishing situation.
I’ve heard about somehow getting a silver fishing rod, like going through a contest, but what about gold? Do you have to do the same thing?
I would like to get started in fishing, and I live only ten minutes away from the Weymouth and Portland coastline. It would be very easy for me to head down to the beach and fish there.
What I’d like to know is, can I just wander down to any stretch of beach, at any time of day, and fish?

rod and reel, fly fishing, live bait, catch and release, or any restrictions on wild and scenic rivers. I am taking a road trip and stopping to fish here and there, I was not aware of the wild and scenic river designations.
