hi i live in the northern part of new york and trout fishing april-august. i have this really good pool that i catch like 10+ trout in 2 hours. ive only gone to this pool like 3 times and the first two i caught 11 trout in 3 hours and another time i went i caught 1 trout in 3 hours. i used the same bait and everything. i went at the same time. did the weather have to do anything with it? what is good trout fishing wether.

I am going to the Hiwassee soon with some friends. They don’t fly fish, and they dont have enough time to learn. Will they be able to attract trout with a zebco?

Using any rod and reel combo will work as long as you put light line (2-4 lb). Trying using a carolina rig with about a 12 inch leader and a 1/2 ounce egg sinker. Tie a size 16-18 size treble hook and for bait use rainbow powerbait or nightcrawlers. If fishing from shore I suggest you use rod holders because this kind of fishing is just sit and wait. Try to find structure such as weeds or anything because the trout like to hug close to structure. Cast near the structure and just wait. Sometimes you can get fish every half an hour and other times you can get skunked.Good luck bud!

i would like to buy a rod reel under 150. im trying to get into fresh water fising ever since i caught a native brown trout. what would be a goo brand for rod and reel? can you guys be specific with what kind of reel and rod i should get?
